Hp Support Pack For Proliant ((FREE))

Absolutely agree with you, I've tried to get a quote for support from HPE several times over the past 6 months and just get absolutely nowhere. We've got a gen 9 Apollo chassis with 4 XL170R blades in which have a vulnerability. Disgusting that we have to pay for a contract to get this CVE fixed, but then we don't even get a quote as nobody comes back to me with any further information!

Hp Support Pack For Proliant

This product detection tool installs software on your Microsoft Windows device that allows HP to detect and gather data about your HP and Compaq products to provide quick access to support information and solutions. Technical data is gathered for the products supported by this tool and is used to identify products, provide relevant solutions and automatically update this tool, to improve our products, solutions, services, and your experience as our customer.

We were unable to find drivers for your product. Try manually selecting your operating system. If your operating system is not listed then HP may not provide driver support for your product with that operating system.

The HP USB Key Utility for Windows version 1.7.0.0 or later should be to put this SPP on a bootable USB key and is also found on the SPP ISO. Remember, to download the software you have to log in on the HP website and have a valid support agreement or serial number from a applicable device supported by this SPP.

As we are adding the Baseline from the SPP ISO, select Browse HP Sum server path for the Location Type. Under Location Details, Browse to the packages folder of your mounted ISO. Older SPP versions held the baseline in hp/swpackages folder.

The latest version of HP support pack was released recently, 2016.10.0 and we downloaded it to deploy it as usual, but Jorgen Brandelius at TrueSec could not resist the need of poking around on the media, and there is was, the hidden folder!!!

In the folder you will find the following structure, it is basically all drivers for Windows Server 2016 (and older supported OS as well) for all supported HP servers, it also includes agents for NANO server running on HP ProLiant.

The pack loads on my gen8.Also you can download component packages separately. Then when you create the bootable USB, you can copy the components into one of the folders, hp\swpackages I think, and then when you load it on your gen8, all the components you added also show up on the update list.

Also here is another site you can use for other gen systems as well -spp/As you can see the one bearcat lists is listed as the last one for Gen6 supportAnd the one fore Gen8 is the one I've linked, the Gen8.1Either will work, but again you can download and ass components to the USB drive you make.

@bearcat please read the link you yourself have linkedYes you are correct, the 2017 is the last production SPPHowever is it not the last POST production SPPI mean even in the paragraph which state the bit about the 2017 has a link to Reducing Server Updates pdf which explains this!Gen8.1 IS a Post Production SPPSo no its doesnt have "support for new technology, features, options and new major OS/hypervisor versions", but "When a server generation is in post-production, modifications to the firmware, drivers, and system software for that server generation is limited to bug fixes and security updates"

Built for complex IT environments, this system supports up to four Intel Xeon E7-4800, E7-8800 or X7500 series processors to provide up to 30MB L3 cache and processor speeds up to 2.6MHz. E7 processors support Enhanced Double Device Data Correction, Intel's advanced memory correction technology that protects the system from memory chip failure.

This system supports 64 DDR3 registered (RDIMM) memory modules shared between four multi-core processors. With four processors, Xeon X7500 series processors will provide a maximum memory capacity of 1TB, but using Intel's E7 processors it will support up 2TB using 32GB memory modules. RAS (Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability) features like HPE's Memory Quarantine helps to ensure maximum uptime by notifies administrators when there are processor or memory errors.

Up to 8 SFF SAS drive bays are supported on the HPE DL580 Gen7, and deliver a maximum internal storage capacity of 9.6TB. If desired, an optional slimline optical drive can be added to the configuration. An internal SSD drive slot is available for greater storage capacity. HPE's Smart Array controllers support Flash Backed Write Cache which increases cache data retention capabilities from two days of existing Battery-Backed Write Cache (BBWC) to infinite data retention.

The HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen7 server has great expansion potential with support for a total of eleven PCI slots and an impressive 64 DIMM slots for high-performance workloads. Intel's E7 processors provide a wide range of RAS features to reduce server downtime and improve performance. The chassis design includes a drawer to hold all four processors and memory that can be easily accessed with the press of a button for hassle-free upgrades and repairs. Remote management features are eight times faster with HPE's iLO 3.0 management module, and Smart Array storage controllers provide support for Flash-Backed Write Cache improving data retention.

Beginning this month, HP is restricting access to firmware updates and service packs for its entire ProLiant server line, a product category that spans a wide range of products, from low-cost small business servers like the ProLiant MicroServer (starting price $359) all the way up to enterprise-class boxes that cost tens of thousands of dollars.

The One-button secure erase process resets iLO and deletes all licensesstored there, resets BIOS settings, and deletes all Active HealthSystem (AHS) and warranty data stored on the system. It also erasessupported non-volatile storage data and deletes any deployment settingprofiles.

In-band steps are performed by ironic making API calls to a ramdisk runningon the node using a deploy interface. Currently, all the deploy interfacessupport in-band cleaning. By default, ironic-python-agent ships with a minimalcleaning configuration, only erasing disks. However, you can add your owncleaning steps and/or override default cleaning steps with a customHardware Manager.

If neither method is supported, it performs software based disk erase usingthe shred utility. By default, the number of iterations performedby shred for software based disk erase is 1. To configure the number ofiterations, use the following configuration option:

Automated cleaning is recommended for ironic deployments, however, there aresome tradeoffs to having it enabled. For instance, ironic cannot deploy a newinstance to a node that is currently cleaning, and cleaning can be a timeconsuming process. To mitigate this, we suggest using NVMe drives with supportfor NVMe Secure Erase (based on nvme-cli format command) or ATA driveswith support for cryptographic ATA Security Erase, as typically theerase_devices step in the deploy interface takes the longest time to completeof all cleaning steps.
